A weekend of heartbreak on our roads
Tributes paid to two young men killed in separate road collisions
Tributes have been pouring in for the two young men – Morgan Henry from Tandragee and Órán McConville from Rathfriland – killed in separate road traffic collisions this weekend.
Órán McConville died in a tragic road collision near Hilltown on Saturday and has been described as "a young man full of promise, kindness and spirit".
Órán was the passenger in a car which was involved in a single vehicle collision on the Kilkeel Road at around 2am. The 18-year-old driver was arrested.
Órán was from Rathfriland, and his passing comes just six weeks after the loss of his father, Patrick. His sister, Rachael, also died in a tragic road collision 16 years ago.
Morgan Henry, who was just 18, was from Castle Rise in Tandragee and was the second young man to lose his life on local roads this weekend.
He was the driver of a car involved in the crash in which four others were injured.
Tandragee Primary School posted: "Words cannot express the sadness that we feel at the passing of such a capable, fun-loving and well-liked young man. Morgan will be fondly remembered by all, and his friends and family are very much in our thoughts and prayers."
