Are you not entertained?!
We'd love to hear your suggestions on how to entertain children – or adults – over the summer months, preferably for free...
Welcome to the Armagh I newsletter – it’s great entertainment. And it’s free into your inbox every Tuesday and Friday morning. Help us to connect with others by sharing this edition; probably best not to give to your kids as free entertainment though! If you haven’t already subscribed, you can do so in the handy box below..
Hello August! We’re halfway through the summer holidays and hardly a drop of sun so far. (Can anyone remember a wetter July than the one we have just had?) “Bad year for grass”, as the farmers would say.
It’s been tricky enough so far. Keeping the little ones entertained when the weather is less than desirable isn’t the easiest thing in the world – and indoor activities are pricey!
What's On: It's an action-packed August in Armagh
But things are looking up… whilst we can’t promise that a heatwave is on the horizon, we can tell you to save the pennies for the uniforms as several free events are due to take place across the borough in the coming weeks.
If you decide to pop into the city centre this Saturday, you may be invited to reconnect with yourself and the city at ‘Headspace’ - a series of interactive activities in the Cathedral Gardens, Market Square and McCrum’s Court. Adults can enjoy a little R&R with mindful movement and sound healing, while the kids explore their senses in an interactive sensory area.
These events will take place every Saturday right through to September 9, when the new school term should have officially commenced for all pupils. Only four/five more weeks to go! But, who’s counting?
How have you been finding the holidays so far? We’d love to hear what you have been getting up to. Feel free to leave a comment – or a tip on the best free things to do for the remainder of the summer – below.
