Arm wrestling, Inline Sled Hockey...foot tennis? What other lesser known sports are we missing?
Plus, defiant Newry mother diagnosed with heart failure at 44 'fighting for my children'
Welcome to the Armagh I newsletter, which drops into your inbox every Tuesday and Friday morning. We’re approaching the 8,000 mark so please feel free to share this newsletter – and if you haven’t already, sign up below…
We’ll start off this morning off by wishing David Gibson and Stanley Hamilton all the best as they prepare to travel 6,500 miles across the globe in search of world honours. The Co Armagh duo are taking part in the World Arm Wrestling championships in Malaysia – I wouldn’t mind a wee jaunt out that way myself; just not sure my arms are quite up to the challenge but as David attests, it’s never too late! Here’s our interview with David, which we ran on the website last night.
David’s article follows on from this piece we covered last weekend – Inline Sled Hockey – which recently launched in Armagh city. There are plenty of lesser known sports and activities popping up all over the place, and we really enjoy hearing about them.
If you have a Quidditch team, or maybe even foot tennis (that’s if someone hasn’t stolen my 23-year-old idea), get in touch with us. In the meantime, here’s the headlines you may have missed over the last few days. PS. Scroll to the bottom for our updated notice board!
