Armed robbery only highlights police warning
Good morning. As promised, we had our competition winner, Declan O'Hare (pictured below), in the office this week collecting his £1,000 worth of local vouchers as part of our 10th birthday celebrations. We might have a few more ideas in the pipeline before the end of the year, so don't go anywhere.
News wise, winter is coming and a stark warning from the police – ‘lock up your property this winter’ with burglaries expected to rise – as the nights get much shorter. It's not exactly a new trend but with the cost-of-living crisis upon us, it may exacerbate the issue. If memory serves me right, the winter of 2015 was a particularly horrible one for repeated burglaries across the area. And the warning came just days before an armed robbery at the Post Office in Cullyhanna.
