Best of both for Sarah O'Hare!
Good afternoon on this autumnal Monday! It's Micheal here with you again.
Firstly, I wanted to say our weekly cinema tickets giveaway is fairly picking up on the website but it remains a funny one. The winner is chosen from those who comment in the section below the article on the actual website, not social media.
We're actively trying to build an engaged community on the website, but it will take time, that we know. For last week's giveaway, which was won by Anne Gray who was "absolutely delighted", there were 30-plus comments in our own comment section but 269 on Facebook alone – it's about flipping that. Of course, the odds flip with that too but each week, those who have commented on the site stand a really good chance of getting a few pair of tickets to an Omniplex and movie of your choice!
Anyway, we're thinking of hosting a few more things on the website, like quizzes etc. circa 2010 when they were really popular, to boost that engagement. We might even send readers on a treasure hunt around the website finding clues! The prize? Well, we'll figure that out, but we will aim high at sponsorship of £1million and work down from that.
Moving on and this week sees the Queen Elizabeth return to Armagh. It'll be the Queen's first visit since 2008, when she played a prominent part in the Holy Thursday worship in city’s Church of Ireland Cathedral as part of the annual Maundy money service.
Before that, in 1995, she attended to present the royal charter, renewing Armagh’s status as a city.
Royal visits are always shrouded in mystery given the huge security protocols implemented, so at this stage we know very little. In fact, it hasn't been officially confirmed but they rarely are.
We'll have full coverage from Thursday – and if she's not here, we'll see what the craic is with Primark in Craigavon, an equally mysterious situation.
In the meantime, have a good week. Here's the rest of the newsletter.
