Care home given deadline to address patient care issues
Good morning. We were delighted to make Declan O'Hare's morning on Friday - adding that bit of sunshine on an otherwise grey morning (we try our best). Declan is hopefully calling in to our office to pick up his £1,000 prize this week so we'll have his face in Friday's newsletter offering.
Elsewhere, Scott recently attended a policing meeting in the Palace Demesne where – as you would expect from a policing meeting – there were some alarming issues. The one thing we've been hearing a lot of recently, without really having any tangible stats, is the growing drug issue across Armagh and the wider borough. We took a call a few weeks back from one mum who claimed (not sure she'd lie about something like this) her daughter was buying drugs off a dealer in the bus depot before going to school...we couldn't quite get to the bottom of this because anywhere we asked there was no issue, apparently. We had to sit on that one...but the recent policing meeting backed up this mother's claims – and it's a much wider issue than just an isolated incident in a bus depot!
It's something we'll look a little more into in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, here's what's been making the headlines over the last few days..
