A mother from Tandragee who last week spoke of her frustration at the loss of respite transportation for her adult daughter has again spoken to Armagh I having recently received the news she has long been waiting for.
The transportation – which had previously been in place for her disabled daughter prior to the pandemic – had ceased, she says with no explanation. Since then, she spoke of her "constant battle" to access suitable and safe transportation for her daughter to and from respite services.

Yesterday (Thursday), we had a very different conversation with the woman who instead spoke of her "delight" after having received a phone call from the Trust on Wednesday to inform her that the previous transportation arrangements will be reinstated full time.
After the much anticipated phone call the woman said she "broke down and cried."
She also said the representative from the trust assured her that she wouldn't have to go through "anything like this again."
Her daughter – who is due to attend respite on March 7 – will now be taken via the bus with a harness installed for her safety.
Her mother is now very much looking forward to a week of respite safe in the knowledge that her daughter will arrive there and home again, all being well, without issue.

🤔 Conundrum…
Well done to those of you who guessed Tuesday’s conundrum…It took this British singer 7 Days to swim this English river…
It was.of course, Craigavon. Craig David sang 7 Days and there is a River Avon in Bristol, England.
Today’s conundrum is this..
I’ve been thinking about the meadow…
Where in Co Armagh are we talking about?
This is very good news for this family. But it is a shame that they had to go public to get a service they required. Is this how the Trust allocate services now?
Great news but pity it had to be highlighted to get a response
