Fan zones for the All-Ireland final?
Plus, Go-ahead given to demolish Tassagh shop and build petrol station, with shop, off-sales and deli
Good morning. We held out a little later with this newsletter, waiting with bated breath, on news from last night’s full council meeting.
We have repeatedly been asked about fan zones; social media is awash with queries being asked of our local representatives. It is our understanding this particular item was high on the agenda last night.
We listened in. We waited, and waited, for an outcome – some white smoke perhaps. Alas, the night came and went. Most of that meeting was either in confidential or adjourned, for reasons unknown to us at this present moment in time.
So, while we have little news on fan zones just five days out form the All-Ireland final, it’s probably safe to assume Council’s support may take on another form.
While turnaround time may be a factor, we understand there is a pot for local clubs/committees to avail of, for their own celebrations; again, this is not a definitive.
Keep an eye out on our website today as we hope to bring some clarity on this.
In the meantime, on with the newsletter…
