Grave robbing – why is this such a thing?
Grave robbing – why is this such a thing?
First of all, I want to say thank you to Paul Loughlin, who reached out to us with a simple reply to the newsletter, highlighting the issue of thieves taking flowers from his parents' grave.
This isn't the first story of this kind ran on Armagh I. In fact, the first time we ever reported a story like this I was, admittedly, a little sceptical – surely people aren't robbing from a grave, and tha perhaps there was some sort of rule in the cemetery about flowers. Cleared by a well-intentioned groundskeeper?
But no, there are people going around robbing flowers and other items from a graves. The parish have said so. Like, why?
Are they selling them? Are they placing them on their own family members' graves elsewhere? Both those things, to the right-minded person, are unconscionable!
Like Paul, reach out to us with any issue you want highlighted. And if you see anything happen you want us to look into, we'd be only too happy to ask the questions.
Anyway, on with the news...
