Killer and sex offender – deported twice – arrested in Newry
Plus, Armagh Round Table's new Man Crèche
Good morning, this morning we bring you our second newsletter ‘front page’. Of course, we don’t actually have a print edition, but we hope this helps convey some of the biggest stories over the last number of days.
Our main story started out as an innocuous court story – children not wearing seatbelts in Newry. However, upon checking the defendant on the police database, a whole litany of previous crimes came to the fore, as well as the fact the accused, according to police, has been deported twice and is back in Newry. There were interesting exchanges between the District Judge and defence counsel.
Elsewhere, there is little reprieve for a health service really struggling with staff shortages and absenteeism through sickness. There are real concerns over maternity services, particularly at Daisy Hill.
And of course, we heard really sad details on the murder of little 23-month-old Tavia Michella Ximenes Da Costa.
There’s been plenty happening, so please let us know your thoughts on this front page, or any of these stories, but do bear in mind ongoing court cases.
