People of the Year Awards
This year we have decided to take a completely different approach to our awards and have opted by completely taken our winners by surprise. So far, the reaction has been overwhelming.
To date, we caught up with our Inspirational Young Person of the Year, Sam Murray, who was blown away by the surprise visit to his place of work in Eglish.
And we also caught Eileen McKinney unawares. She received the Community Impact Award for her 35 years of dedicated service to the Special Olympics.

An Australian love story for King and Queen of Killeavy Castle
Nestled amidst the stunning Ring of Gullion's magical woodlands, and rugged hills, where the legendary Cú Chulainn and Na Fianna roamed, the majestic Killeavy Castle Estate stands tall.
While some may have thought its owners Mick and Robin Boyle were building castles in the air when they bought the crumbling ruin in 2013, nothing could be further from the truth.
Six years later, Killeavy Castle was restored to its former glory by the Australian couple and on July 4, 2019 Mick's parents cut the ribbon for the official opening of the award-winning four star hotel.
“It was almost exactly 50 years to the day that my mother and father left Killeavy to come to Australia, that we were back there cutting the ribbon on Killeavy Castle,” said Mick when we spoke to him and Robin from their home in Sydney.
