Parent hits out at Education Authority over ongoing class closures and summer scheme cuts
Good morning and welcome to our Friday morning edition. Thanks to those of you who are getting into the swing of things with the conundrum (see at the bottom of the newsletter 👇). I’ve had Kellie give out because I’ve repeated some of her choices. We’re running out of places at this rate so might have to change the teasers up a little, so feel free to help us out.
Anyway, this morning’s newsletter lead one in which a parent reached out to us about on going class closures and cuts to summer scheme provisions at Lisanally Special School in Armagh.

They even cited incidents when children have arrived at school on buses, only to be informed that the school did not have adequate staffing to take them in.
One class was affected for three days last month (May 2024).
The parent said: “Throughout the school year children are being so failed. Parents are getting a message either the night before, or that morning, saying classes are closed because they haven’t got staff. Check out the full story here.
Creative Craigavon woman coordinates art classes giving hope to those living with M.E. and Fibromyalgia
A Craigavon woman living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and Fibromyalgia is inspiring others with similar conditions to tap into their creative side by using art as a means of therapy.

ME - a chronic and fluctuating neurological disease - has caused Claire to experience various debilitating symptoms including, but not limited to, fatigue, brain-fog and cognitive difficulties, nerve pain, loss of balance, difficulty walking and sleeping and sensory processing difficulties.
Learning to live with the chronic condition has taken its emotional toll and Claire knew she had to find a way to adapt. Read the full story here.
