‘The BT62s’ – The gang running amok in Portadown

armaghi.substack.com

Good morning folks, it's Micheal here with you once again. Brace yourself for Storm Barra – it's going to be a blowy one today!

In other stormy news – but not in the literal sense – we ran a story last Tuesday morning in relation to a barbaric attack in Keady – St Mathew's estate to be exact. Crossfire Trust founder Ian Bothwell – who had worked closely with the victim of this attack at Darkley House (Crossfire Trust) – claimed the man was beaten because of his religion and that those responsible for the attack told him to get out of the "republican" St Matthew's estate...or else!

Obviously these claims caused concern for the many good people of the estate. These were the alleged words of the three masked men. To our surprise our story was attacked as lies. Some people don't agree with a certain viewpoint of another, we understand that, but we were told to get the other side of the story – obviously we couldn't because the other side of that story is that of the masked intruders.

We offered to run a follow up from the residents condemning the actions of the individuals but those who spoke to didn't follow up on the messages.

We just want to clarify that we ran a story from a man who publicly wanted to condemn the actions of three masked

We understand these are not the thoughts of the people of St Matthew's – these men do not speak for them or the people of Keady.
