Good morning! We’ll try and start on a positive note – the next three days should resemble something akin to a summer…make the most of it! ☀️☀️☀️
On the news front, and the big story over the last few days has been the circulation of a video on social media, which shows a violent assault on a teenage boy in Dungannon. It is truly one of the most shocking videos you’ll have the misfortune of watching (if you’ve had that misfortune). Police are appealing for witnesses – of whom there are many – to come forward. Check out the full story here.
It comes only days after we first reported on the two poor German Shepherds found bound together and weighed down in Carrick Lough! Again, a truly horrendous story. You can read here. We will aim to get a follow up on the autopsy report; hopefully the dogs did not go in the water alive.
Elsewhere, a Mercedes was stolen in Loughgall – in broad daylight!
That comes just days after a wall and gates were rammed when a tractor was stolen from a locked yard in Collone.
And in other news…
An outline business case has just been approved for the new Newry City Park at Albert Basin and the funding – for the first phase – is to be released shortly.

👏 Well done to Loughgall FC, who after their promotion to the top tier of the NI Football last season, sit top after their opening 3-0 weekend win away to Newry City. They are officially the smallest settlement in Europe with a top-flight football club – and they’re top of it!
🤝🏻 In GAA, Kieran McGeeney will continue as Armagh manager for a 10th consecutive season after winning a vote at a meeting of club delegates on Monday night. 46 clubs voted 👍🏻 while 16 voted 👎🏻 for his re-appointment. He is now the longest serving manager on the inter-county scene.
