Good morning, it’s a record breaker! A September heatwave. Temperatures are set to peak at a cool 28 degrees today, just as the children go back to school. The whole thing has caused quite a stir about what children should and shouldn’t be allowed to wear, so we posed the question on social media…
We highlighted the fact that some local schools are giving children the option of wearing PE kit instead of uniforms to classes But some parents have complained to us that their children's schools are refusing to bend the rules in such extreme heat.
What do you think?

Looking back!
What a wonderful family photo. This is the Magennis family from Canal Bank in Poyntzpass – all 16 siblings. The first photo is dated at approximately 1957/58, from eldest to youngest. The brothers and sisters are posing for the same photo again in 1988, with the third photo taken in 2012. 13 of the siblings are alive today, with the eldest being 92. Absolutely remarkable and thanks to Sinead Reel for sending these photos our way. Her mum is the fourth youngest of the 16...Christmas would have been interesting 😀
