Hold onto your hat – for another Friday morning Newsletter. Today, we are going Country! Kellie with you again this morning and I don’t need to tell many of you that Rikki and I attended the NI Country Music Awards at the Tullyglass Hotel on Monday night. Live performances from none other than Philomena Begley, Derek Ryan, Susan McCann and granddaughter Sinead Heaney, Owen Mac and Louise Morrisey who also helped compere the event. What a night we had- well worth the two and a half hour round trip journey to Ballymena! And yes – I know you’re probably wondering what Armagh I are doing traipsing away up to Ballymena but let’s face it, we are a city full of country people and we just had to indulge! Thank you to everyone who joined our live stream and live blog of the event. We loved seeing your comments coming through and a wee birdy told me that you even had the ‘phones ringing off the hook’ at the Tullyglass when our stream went down! Excellent. The evening was an absolute blast and great practice for us, given that we will be hosting our own Awards Night in just under 4 weeks’ time – we are going full bells and whistles with a live stream and blog of our event too. I think I’ll leave it there for this week. There’s plenty included below to give you bit more reading – and on the subject of reading – I have just picked up a book for the first time in about a month! Not like me to leave it so long between novels but I just haven’t had the time. I’m currently reading The Troop by Nick Cutter but I’m always looking for recommendations so please feel free to make a suggestion. I’m not a lit snob. I’ll read anything – except romance. I’d believe in zombies sooner than Prince Charming!
