'It's hard to feel safe anywhere these days!'
Well, if incidents over the last week are anything to go by...
“It's hard to feel safe anywhere these days…”
That was just one of the many reactions to news of another vicious attack in Portadown over the weekend.
Saturday evening saw one man badly beaten by two suspects; one of whom has since been arrested – police are trying to trace another.
It came on the back of an attempted murder in the town just days earlier. While unrelated, it’s another shocking – and worrying – act of violence. No charges have been levied against a suspect as of yet!
The injured man was found covered in blood following a stab would in the shoulder area. This incident didn’t happen under the cover of darkness but rather 3.25 in the afternoon…the school rush!
And this weekend past saw an array of high profiles attacks..a masked man threatened staff at premises in Lurgan in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Elsewhere in Lurgan, a garden hose was pushed through the letterbox of a house and turned on. When the homeowner opened the door they were threatened with a knife.
A pensioner was punched in the head three times by a young man before he had his car hijacked in Dromore.
And in a separate incident, a woman was seriously assaulted in Banbridge after windows were smashed at two properties!
It’s hard to feel safe anywhere these days, indeed!
