Good morning, Conor here again....I am sure you will all be glad to know that I have now made the move, albeit still living out of boxes, and having a fight with black bin bags to find a single item of clothing.Between all that, we have been working away and preparing for the People of the Year Awards, which are fast approaching (March 10). This past week I have been videoing those who have been shortlisted for each of the categories. With 22 nominees in all, this is due to be a busy few weeks of shooting and editing ahead of the big evening under the stars at the Planetarium.That aside, last week I had the opportunity to speak with Middletown mum Sandy Woods about the moment she was told her son Charlie (3) would go blind after being diagnosed with Bardet-Biedl Syndrome, a rare genetic condition. She told me how she had to fight to get this diagnosis, as the condition normally goes undetected or is often misdiagnosed. This was a difficult interview as she spoke of how the idea of her son becoming blind was the last of her worries. If you haven't read it already, please check it out below.
