What's to be done about the old Denny's Factory site..
Plus...is SRC going to build their new campus on the Marlborough House site in Craigavon?

There are a lot of unknowns in this morning’s newsletter – but we’re working on finding some answers. There were a number of potential stories that popped up on social media feeds over the last few days. The first was a photo of the old Denny’s site in Portadown – for the life of me, can I find it again.
Nonetheless, the question posed: What’s happening to the site now? It’s a question we asked of the Council back in March but we’re none the wiser almost six months on, so we asked again on Monday. We await the update.
Demolition work on the old Denny's factory in Portadown began at the end of the summer 2021. The site, on the Corcrain Road, was bought in 2017 by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, for a figure understood to be just under £500,000. What’s next? Hopefully we’ll know by the time the next newsletter hits your inbox on Friday.
Elsewhere, campaign group Save Craigavon City Park and Lakes claimed that the proposed new multi-million pound SRC campus in Craigavon will be built on the site of Marlborough House following the legal row which saw plans to build at the lakes pretty much quashed in court. According to the group, Marlborough House tenants have been notified that they must vacate the premises by 2025. It must be stressed that this has yet to be confirmed by anyone but we’re working on getting an update from the college themselves. So far they are remaining tight-lipped, which is another way of saying they have not yet answered our questions. We hold out hope that this is a not yet as opposed to a not ever!
